This is an ongoing series of events throughout 2018 that will highlight inspirational women from our community.

We hope to encourage women to build relationships with one another in order to share their experiences pursuing their career or business, find peer support, and to become more active in the communities around them.

All are welcome. Be sure to bring a friend to this free event!

Pitch to Your Peers – Conejo Valley – Feb 18

Pitch to your Peers allows you to pitch your idea or company to our community with the purpose of getting invaluable feedback.

It is a great opportunity to prepare before you pitch to investors, potential co-founders, strategic business partners, clients, or any other audience.

You can even use this platform to practice pitching to your boss for a raise.

Everyone gets up to 5 minutes to pitch. We have access to a projector screen. Be sure to bring a HDMI cable if you want to use it.

We will try to give you advice and insight into what your intended audience may connect with or be concerned with. It is as much a practice in empathy as it is in pitching.

The event also allows for you to build relationships with potential mentors, investors, clients, users, and more.

After the event we will have time for informal networking.

This is an ongoing series we are holding each month with Hub101 in Conejo Valley. Be sure to check them out: http://www.hub101.la/

Digital Magazine and Podcasts coming in 2019

To help us keep you more informed we are launching a new Digital Magazine and Podcasts in 2019.

The magazine will be published, once a month, directly to our website and in the form of a PDF that will be shared across our membership network and through our partner networks.

The magazine will follow a similar format to our live events and serve the goals of inspiring people, educating people, and fostering authentic relationships between people.

Within the magazine you will find informative interviews focused on experiences and practical insights, how to articles, and profiles featuring introductions and updates from our members.

We will share an further update about the new magazine after the holidays.

The Podcasts coming will feature a lot of the same interviews utilized in the Digital Magazine and give you all a different way to digest some incredible content. Both Alon and Gary will be producing a podcast.

Each podcast will feature an incredible line up of persons and revolve around their unique styles, while staying true to the 805 Startups culture of inspiring, educating, and fostering community.

If you would like to an interview subject, share a lesson in”How To” do something, have any suggestions for content or a name, feel free to share your thoughts with us using our contact form on the homepage

Have a wonderful holidays and a happy new year!

New Supporter Packages are available

We are now offering new ways to show your support for 805 Startups.  Starting at only $2 a month you can help fund our free events and programs that we provide to our shared communities.

It means a great deal to us to be as inclusive as possible.  This is why we do not charge an entry fee to almost all of our events. It is also why we insist on having the lowest registration fees for exhibitors at our flagship event, the quarterly Innovation & Growth Fair, compared to other startup, entrepreneur, and business events produced across the region.

We do not want anyone to have an excuse to not attend.  The more attendance we have, the more connected we make your community. The more connected it is, the more resources and support you have to pursue your growth and success–personally or professionally.

It takes a lot of work and it is not free to produce our events and programs for you.  This is why we need your support.

The more support we have, the more events we can bring you. Not only that, the overall quality of the events and the experience you have will greatly improve when we have more resources.

We deeply appreciate all the support we get.  To show that appreciation, official Supporters will get some extra benefits from 805 Startups.

These benefits range include access to exclusive content in our upcoming Digital Magazine, physical buttons sporting 805 Startups designs, 50% off the VIP Lunch ticket, promotion in the Digital Magazine, and more.

See all the offered benefits and sign up by clicking here.

Pitch To Your Peers is expanding to more cities

Beginning in 2019, we are expanding our Pitch To Your Peers event to more cities across Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties.

We have had great success with Pharos Center for Innovation hosting us in Camarillo.  The event has been rewarding for the presenters, audience, and 805 Startups.  Everyone leaves the event with more knowledge and more confidence as a result of the supportive environment and academic approach to providing constructive criticism.  This also leads to new bonds be developed between those in attendance.  It is a wonderful thing the community needs more of.

This success has driven us to bring this platform to many others in our shared communities.  We are very excited to be in the process of finalizing a monthly events in Santa Barbara, Ventura, Westlake Village, San Fernando Valley, and Los Angeles.  A full year’s worth of events should be announced the first week of the new year.

Ideally, we would be hosting this event in many more cities across the region.  If you would like to help that be reality, please join us as a Supporter or Full Member.
